1. What StoryCoPilot Does
StoryCoPilot transcribes audio, suggests interview questions, and helps you build paper edits. It's a production tool designed to support your editorial process — not replace your judgement. As we're still in beta, features may change or improve as we develop.
2. Recording Responsibility
As the filmmaker, you're responsible for your recordings. This means:
- Getting informed consent from anyone you record or transcribe
- Following the recording and data protection laws that apply to your production (including GDPR where relevant)
- Making sure contributors know they're being recorded
This is the same responsibility you carry on any production — StoryCoPilot doesn't change that.
3. How Your Data Is Processed
To transcribe and analyse your interviews, audio is processed through third-party services (Speechmatics for transcription, Anthropic for AI features). These services process your data in real time and do not store or train on it. You should avoid recording information you're not authorised to share with third-party processors.
4. Sensitive Material
Documentary interviews often involve sensitive personal information. You're responsible for handling this material in line with applicable data protection law, just as you would with any production tool or recording device.
5. Liability
StoryCoPilot is provided as a production tool without guarantees. We're not liable for data loss, transcription errors, or any issues arising from how recordings are used. You agree to hold the developer harmless from any claims related to your use of the app.
6. Updates
Last updated March 2026. These terms may be updated as the product develops. Continued use means you accept any changes.
